RandomSkip Review

RandomSkip is a site that is similar to Omegle in the sense that it has both text-only and video random chat options. However, RandomSkip has another option on top of those, which is the group chat option. This third option is similar to the old school chat rooms, where everyone is in one room together, instead of the one-on-one setting associated with the other two options. The fact that they have that extra option in itself helps make Random Skip a great site to check out. However, there is more to be happy about. Specifically, one of the best things about this site is the extra features they have added to their text chatting page. The most important extra feature they added is the ability to send images back and forth to the strangers you talk to. This is absolutely HUGE! You can check out the page with this amazing, awesome, and super easy to use photo sharing right here: https://www.randomskip.com/omegle.

Basically, the owners of this site looked at what Omegle has done and tried to improve upon it as much as possible. Adding the pictures capability was probably the smartest thing they could have done. I mean, just think about all those times you’ve been annoyed that you couldn’t send a picture without having to first go upload it somewhere else and then paste in the link! No fun, no fun at all, and super inconvenient. Well, your problem has been solved, hurray! I can’t overstate the importance of them adding this though. If you think about the way you chat with random people on these sites, you will quickly realize that many times something is missing. You know what’s missing? You can’t see them! When you can visualize the face of a person you’re talking to, it makes the discussion a whole lot more intimate, rather than talking to some ghost. Now, some of you might say that you enjoy the mystery of not being able to see the other person, but let’s be real here, if the conversation goes well it won’t be long before the fun of the mystery wears off and you really want to know what your new friend actually looks like! Curiosity will take a-hold of you like crazy, and you will be asking for pictures in no time at all. It’s just the way it is, you can’t help yourself.

Anyway, there is another feature I’d like to mention as well which is emoticons. They added those too, so now you can send smiles in style, and thereby embellish your messages with that so hard to imitate via text message real life “tone” that you would normally include when actually speaking with someone. Emotes are the next best thing to actual voice tone, and so you just have to take what you can get! Anyway, they have the smiles as well, so if you weren’t already sold with the images, that should finish it for you. What are you waiting for? Get over to that website already!

Tagged Alternatives

So, if you have come to be as big a fan of Tagged as we are, you probably also are wanting to expand your repertoire to include some solid alternatives to Tagged so that you can kind of grow the potential pool of people available for you to meet online. No matter how much you like one website, the truth of the matter is always that if you join more similar sites, you are able to search across a wider array of new faces, and that in itself makes finding all those alternatives a must do for everyone. The Tagged website falls in what many call the “social encounters” niche, which actually has a pretty small number of players in it, so we decided to also include some free dating sites, which essentially allow you to do the same thing if you use them properly. Here’s our Tagged alternatives list:

1. MeetzurSee Review

This is a cool newer player in the “social encounters” niche. Meetzur really allows its users to kind of dictate how they want to go about making new friends, and it’s a very laid back environment. The community is derived from random chat site visitors, such that everyone there is there because they are comfortable meeting new people and because they WANT to meet new people – there is no confusion.

2. Badoo – See Review

This is one of the biggest social networks for finding new people on the web, and it is the most popular I know of in non-English speaking international countries such as Brazil.

3. OkCupid – See Review

This is a very popular free online dating site with its own in-house algorithm for determining how compatible you are with another user. This is given in percentages, and is a very interesting metric to look at while browsing.

4. POF – See Review

POF (Plenty of Fish) is probably the most popular free online dating site for any primarily English speaking country. Here you will find the biggest pool of potential mates!

5. DateHookup – See Review

This  is another free dating website, and it looks kind old when you visit it, but don’t be fooled, it has a large user base, especially in the USA.

Badoo Alternatives

First off, we love Badoo and think it is an awesome site. However, with that being said, we still think it is important to constantly be on the prowl for other alternatives to Badoo of a similar nature. A couple reasons for this is that you never know when a new better site is going to pop up or sort of go viral, and you never know if Badoo may suddenly lose traction and kind of die (a la MySpace). Or, even if neither of those two things happen, you tend to find different people on different sites because they don’t know about more than one such “social encounters” type social network for meeting new people. Thus, you can effectively expand the pool to include new potential friends. At any rate, check out our list of Badoo alternatives below:

1. MeetzurRead Full Review

Meetzur is new cool Badoo alternative with a lot of spunk. It states right on the homepage that its goal is to “connect you with strangers” and it definitely does. Because there is such a concentration on getting you to meet new people, the community itself has taken on a different vibe from most such sites, and the vibe in my opinion is much more laid back, making the entire expected motive behind using the site for any user seem much less strict, and thus making the site environment in general much more comfortable than average.

2. TaggedRead Full Review

This site describes itself as a social network for “meeting new people”, and that’s exactly what it is! Features include games that essentially function as icebreakers, and the ability to share interests.

3. POF – Read Full Review

POF (Plenty of Fish) is the most popular free online dating site for English-speaking countries in the world. That about covers it.

4. OkcupidRead Full Review

This is another popular free online dating site that includes a proprietary matching algorithm – be sure to give it a try!

5. DateHookupRead Full Review

Although this free dating site is less popular than the 2 previously mentioned, it still has a large pool of people available and is definitely worth a glance, especially for US users.

Meetzur Review

Meetzur is a new fast-growing social network  in the “social encounters” niche. Similar sites include Badoo and Tagged, but Meetzur is unique in its own way. Some people describe sites in Meetzur’s industry to be more along the lines of free online dating sites, but the problem with that is that these sites are first social networks, and then can be used by the users however they choose, such as for dating purposes, for making friends, or whatever. In the case of this site, you have a social network which is very casual and has no strict guidelines as to why you have to use it. Lots of users meet new people and make new friends on Meetzur every day, and this is allowing it to grow at an ever-increasing rate.

In terms of functionality, you have a lot of the basics as you would expect with any social network such as Facebook. You can add friends, post comments, send messages, etc. However, the way it is all put together is unique and is made in such a way that it promotes the meeting of new people as much as possible. This is, of course, very important, since that is the purpose of the website. The community itself is derived from people who specifically make it their goal to meet strangers, because the site is advertised on stranger random chat type sites such as its affiliate iMeetzu. Advertising to the exact kind of people that want to constantly meet new people has helped to make the Meetzur community super friendly, and, quite frankly, super awesome! So what are you waiting for? Check them out today at www.meetzur.com!

DateHookup Review

This free online dating site has been around for ages, and its look has been virtually unchanged as far back as I can remember. However, despite the lack of changes to its look, and very few if any to its functionality in the last few years, at least that I am aware of, the site has continued to grow in popularity. The main geography of it’s growth has seemed to be the USA, and as would be expected, the United States is also its current primary source of visitors. Simply being a viable alternative to the other major free online dating websites could really be about all that is necessary to be successful. Of course, this is easier said then done.

You see, for DateHookup to achieve the growth and success it has, it first has to get enough people using the site to make it worthwhile for more people to come along and also use it, and then keep using it. This is the typical chicken and egg problem associated with any social or dating website, and solving it is never easy. Luckily for this site, it has been around so long that it seems to have been able to acquire great search engine rankings, and a whole lot of visibility over its lifetime. It would be my guess that the combination of those two things have allowed it to prosper, because when you look at it, it really is just a bare bones dating site. It allows you to find people and contact them, but that’s about it. But then again, maybe all the other sites and their fancy algorithms never were necessary anyway, maybe dating really is just a function of meeting people and then deciding for yourself, after all. I’ll let you decide, by visiting this site at www.datehookup.com.

OkCupid Review

OkCupid is one of the most popular free online dating websites, especially in the USA. In the United States it is second only to POF, but worldwide it may be a bit lower, depending on whether or not you include social networks that are focused on meeting people such as Badoo, among other types of similar sites. At any rate, it was founded in 2004 by a smart group of serial entrepreneurs, and then sold off to Match.com in 2011 for a nice chunk of change – let’s just say they did VERY well for themselves. Many people feared OkCupid would be ruined by the new owners, but it appears that it has been left essentially the same, as I have not witnessed any major changes.

One of the major sources of OkCupid’s success is quite possibly their proprietary matching algorithm. The site will ask you to answer a very long list of questions it deems to be important with regards to any relationship, and then it will issue you a % of compatibility when viewing other user profiles. However, there is no way to be sure that this is the reason they have done so well, because often times with dating sites all that really matters is marketing and getting enough people to start using a site, so rather than talk up this feature set as being amazing we will let you draw your own conclusions. Of course, in order to be able to draw your own conclusions, you will need to give them a visit at www.okcupid.com.

Tagged Review

This is a social network that actually is doing quite well, despite the rise of Facebook. At first, that may not make any sense, but when you think about what it is that this site, Tagged, provides, the pieces begin to come together. What they offer is a way for you to meet new people, plain and simple. Facebook does not really work well for doing this, because it is more about staying in touch with people you already know. Tagged allows you to concentrate on finding new people to add to your real life social circle or just to be friends with online, the choice is yours. They allow this to occur while providing a pretty familiar feeling social environment.

One way this website encourages its users to branch out is by providing games. These games function essentially as icebreakers, which I think is a great concept, and which looks to have been pretty successful for them. Besides games, they have your usual social networking functionality such as profiles, etc. and thus you can run searches by location and what not to see if you can find anyone cool nearby. They are probably only second to Badoo in this “social encounters” category. Anyway, I like the pretty laid back feel of the site in general, so it’s definitely worth giving a try! Visit them at www.tagged.com.

Stickam Review

Stickam is more than just your usual Chatroulette alternative. Sure, it has the expected random roulette video chat functionality, which it calls “Stickam Shuffle”, but the main attraction to the site actually isn’t that feature, it’s something completely different. You see, this website is actually a live streaming webcam feed social network. Users are able to launch their own live video channels, and use them for whatever purpose they want. This includes things such as DJs having 1 hour beat sessions, people running their own scheduled comedic talk shows, and people just signing on to their channel whenever in order to both entertain themselves and others with their larger than life personalities.

Thus, as you can see, Stickam has a lot to offer! It is a popular platform for live video streaming, and it really brings life to the idea of a social network that is essentially based on live cam communication. As would be expected with such a site, it is quite popular. The site’s main source of visitors is the United States, but other english-speaking countries such as Canada and the United Kingdom also have a large presence. There actually are users from all over the world, but English seems to be the primary language utilized within the community. At any rate, if all this sounds awesome and you’re looking to check it out, find them at www.stickam.com.
